At 8:30am BST, the official 007.com website released the brand new teaser trailer for SKYFALL, the 23rd James Bond feature film starring Daniel Craig. This 1:23 trailer hints at and provides evidence for many of the talked about themes of SKYFALL, including a violent and costly attack on MI-6 headquarters and a direct threat launched against Bond’s boss M (Judi Dench). It’s a fast-paced teaser that offers only glimpses of scenes along with co-stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and the mere silhouette of Javier Bardem as the film’s villain, Silva.
This trailer’s tone is quite serious and somber compared to those of Craig’s previous two entries, typified in the quick shot of M standing over the flag-draped caskets of eight (or more) of her colleagues. Everything about this trailer indicates big trouble for Bond: gone are the one-liners and fist-crunching heroics of 007, replaced by an aura of foreboding that could well have franchise-changing implications.
FilmEdge.net is all the more eager to see SKYFALL when it debuts in theaters this November.
