Word from author Max Brooks‘ website that fans of his novel World War Z can bid for a chance to win a private screening of the film adaptation this fall, hosted by Brooks himself.
Three days and change now remain on the Ebay auction for a WORLD WAR Z private screening in Los Angeles with Brooks and 20 of your closest friends (alive or undead) before the film’s release in theaters. The auction proceeds benefit WWZ star Brad Pitt‘s Make It Right foundation, working to rebuild the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Please note: it’s now 2012 and Make It Right still has plenty of reconstruction to do, having built half of Pitt’s promised 150 new, green homes for residents of the Ward.
So, zombie fans, make a bid on this one-of-a-kind moviegoing experience with Max Brooks and support a good cause. Surviving a fictitious apocalypse of the undead is all fun and good, but helping your fellow Americans recover from a real nightmare is a very good cause!
