Bond is back for his 23rd cinematic mission as filming officially began today in London on SKYFALL, the new 007 film opening in Fall 2012 with Daniel Craig returning as James Bond for his third time.
As news about the film being directed by Sam Mendes continues to trickle out after this week’s press conference, two new faces joined the SKYFALL cast with official confirmation via the new @007 Twitter account: actress Helen McCrory (long-rumored under consideration) and actor Ola Rapace (former spouse of Noomi Rapace) have signed on to the project, though no specific character roles have been associated with either performer yet.
McCrory is likely best known in film for her recurring character Narcissa Malfoy in the final three HARRY POTTER films, though she also appeared as Cherie Blair in UK political drama THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP and will next be seen in Martin Scorsese’s HUGO later this month.
Rapace continues his busy acting career in his native Sweden, known for many television and film roles spanning more than a decade.
