With all six maze themes announced for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event at Universal Studios Hollywood, FilmEdge begins our in-depth previews and predictions for each maze beginning with a new chiller for 2011: THE THING – ASSIMILATION.
Based on the upcoming horror film starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton, a prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 landmark sci-fi screamer, THE THING – ASSIMILATION transports HHN fans to a remote science outpost in the Antarctic where a deadly alien threat as been thawed out. This maze will borrow set and creature designs directly from THE THING prequel movie, which opens in theaters October 14th.
If Universal’s creative team faithfully recreates the claustrophobic sets and chilling atmosphere of this terrifying story, FilmEdge anticipates THE THING – ASSIMILATION will be a blood-freezing shocker and the most cinematically immersive maze at Halloween Horror Nights this season. Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights opens September 23rd and runs on select nights through October 31st, 2011.
