The official RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Facebook page revealed five new images from the film including one new still of Caesar and four pieces of concept art. Caesar is seen embracing another ape, possibly a sad hug goodbye just before he leaves the Gen Sys labs, as performed via motion-capture by actor Andy Serkis. The four art images establish the polished steel and glass look of the Gen Sys Laboratories located in San Francisco, emphasizing the rather cold, inhuman facade and feel of the science headquarters where Will Rodman (James Franco) develops his Alzheimer’s cure tested on Caesar, unwittingly giving rise to the intelligent hybrid ape. Note that the night view image is labeled “Gen Sys Laboratories accident aftermath” despite the lack of visual damage or danger in the scene, though the massive emergency response may signal the magnitude of the unknown “accident” on site.
