Sure you’ve seen hordes of the undead growling and clawing at you from your video game console, but FilmEdge is betting you’ve never seen them quite like this in new official trailer for DEAD ISLAND, due to devour your game dollars later this year.
Developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver, DEAD ISLAND will be a first-person shooter horror survival game set on the ‘paradise’ of a tropical island vacation resort. This innovative trailer tells the (backwards) backstory of a family seeking fun together on this sun-drenched island until flesh-eating ghouls from all walks of death attack them in their hotel room. You have to see this trailer to appreciate its full impact as a brilliant marketing tool and, surprisingly, as an emotion-grabbing short film.
WARNING: even this trailer for DEAD ISLAND is intended for mature audiences ONLY as it is chock full of horror violence, so viewer discretion is strongly advised and anyone under 18 years of age should not click to play this video.
Expect DEAD ISLAND’s game trailer to go viral just like the Believe trailer for HALO 3 did in 2007 — and if you’re not squeamish, be sure to watch IGN’s exclusive video first look in HD quality.
DEAD ISLAND is being developed for PlayStation 3, XBox 360 and PC gaming platforms with the following specs:
- first-person melee combat
- 4-player co-op
- weapon customization
- set in open world tropical environment
- RPG elements for character development
Early official game description:
