On Monday night, FilmEdge attended STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Season 3.5 preview screening in Hollywood, showing a three-episode story arc of the series’ new Dark Side threat, Savage Opress, hosted by director Dave Filoni and several voice actors from the cast including James Arnold Taylor, Ashley Eckstein, Catherine Taber, Nika Futterman and Dee Bradley Baker.

FilmEdge previews the rise of a new Sith apprentice, the brutal Savage Opress, in STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS

Monday’s theatrical screening presented the next three episodes of THE CLONE WARS — Nightsisters, Monster, Witches of the Mist — scheduled to air on Cartoon Network beginning January 7th, 2011, edited together in one continuous mini-movie exploring the emergence of the fierce Zabrak warrior, Savage Opress. We’re pleased to report that these episodes contain some of the best dramatic scenes and action set pieces of the entire series! A gundark’s share of the credit goes to the author of this three-story arc of episodes, Katie Lucas — that’s right, the talented daughter of the STAR WARS Jedi Master himself, George Lucas. Katie with the episode directors and the entire CLONE WARS team have really taken THE CLONE WARS in an exciting direction with the Savage Opress arc, unleashing more conflict and drama about the Dark Side than we’ve ever seen before. And the growing power of the Dark Side will define the thrills and dangers in the second half of Season Three starting in January!

Check out our review of the screening and see all-new episode images of Opress, Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress and the eerie Nightsisters now online at FilmEdge.net.
