Comic-Con 2010 Saturday schedule released


Comic-Con continues unveiling their 2010 event programming schedule with the panel-packed list for Saturday July 24, featuring a blend of studio film and TV promotion, video games, comic publishers and more.  Highlights in the Saturday schedule include:

Marvel Comics Writers Unite! for the third time at Comic-Con to discuss Marvel’s hottest title characters including Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, X-Men and Spider-Man.  10-11am, Room 6DE

Dead Rising 2 feeds fans’ hunger for this horror gaming franchise at Panel of the Living Dead: Surviving the Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Onslaught on Xbox 360, as Capcom’s team takes you behind the scenes of creating this next undead console adventure.  The first 25 zombies attending the panel will receive a special token for Dead Rising 2: Case Zero.  10-11am, Room 25ABC

Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green and other guests host a freakin’ sweet panel on the outrageous animated sitcom, including never-before-seen clips of their third Star Wars parody.  11-11:45am, Ballroom 20

Start your Saturday with a jolt at Marvel: Cup O’ Joe with the brand’s editor-in-chief and CCO Joe Quesada drops some new Marvel bombshell announcements on fans and brings special surprise guests on stage.  11:15am-12:15pm, Room 6BCF

Warner Brothers hosts three feature film showcases for Green Lantern, Sucker Punch and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The studio’s prepared a special Deathly Hallows presentation just for Comic-Con fans, so don’t miss it!  11:45am-1:15pm, Hall H

Futurama returns to television with world-premiere footage from the revived animated series plus a look at Comic-Con 3010, courtesy of exec producers Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, and cast members Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal and Maurice LaMarche. 12:45-1:30pm, Ballroom 20

Fans of retro children’s TV will want to check out Behind the Scenes with Sid & Marty Krofft: A Look at the Past, Present and Future. Creators of kids classics like HR Pufnstuf, The Bugaloos, Sigmund the Sea Monster and Land of the Lost, the Krofft team revisits the past and previews their latest feature film project, Creations from the World of Jack Kirby.  1:30-2:30pm, Room 24ABC

Disney Epic Mickey previews this highly anticipated game title exploring over eight decades of Walt Disney’s imagination and animation legacy.  See gameplay demos of never-before-seen areas, concept art and comic book panels with a fan Q&A session. 4:30-5:30pm, Room 9

Universal Studios previews two upcoming high-profile film titles: Paul and Cowboys & Aliens.  The former is a sci-fi comedy directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad) and stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Jeffrey Tambor and Seth Rogan.  Director Jon Favreau adapts the graphic novel of Cowboys & Aliens and offers a sneak peek while on break from the production, starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.  4:45-5:45pm, Hall H

Dark Shadows: The Classic Series, the Comic Books, and the Upcoming Film feeds the hunger of devotees to this classic cult franchise, soon to be reborn as a feature film starring Johnny Depp.  TV series stars Jonathan Frid, Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott join a Q&A session. 5:00-6:00pm, Room 3

A tribute to one of Hollywood’s greatest creature makers celebrates The Winston Effect, as a star-studded panel of make-up and creature effects leaders join to honor the late Stan Winston and preview and exciting new project which will carry on his legacy.  5:30-6:30pm, Room 7AB
