Review: THE WOLFMAN Unrated Director’s Cut removes some of the curse

FilmEdge reviews Universal Studios’ release of THE WOLFMAN Unrated Director’s Cut now available on Blu-ray.  The restoration of over fifteen minutes of character building scenes repair much of the damage done to this horror classic retelling, improving Joe Johnston’s film over it’s undercut, action-skewed theatrical release.  Universal makes great use of its U-Control integration of bonus features during movie playback, as well as providing both the theatrical and unrated cuts of the film. Unfortunately a technical flaw undermines this otherwise handsome homecoming for THE WOLFMAN, extending the undeserved curse lingering over this dark, atmospheric monster myth.
